MOBILE USE

The end of 2013 offers the following statistics on mobile devices. These figures are growing year on year.

There are around 4.6 billion mobile users worldwide. Based on world population of 7.1 billion, this is almost 65% of global penetration. There are 6.8 billion subscriptions worldwide, which accounts for 97% of global penetration. By the end of 2014 there will be more connections than people.

Currently, 56% of people own a smart phone. 50% of mobile phone users, use mobile as their primary internet source. On average people spend 2.8 hours per day on the mobile device. That's over twice the amount of time they spend eating each day.

50% of all local searches are performed on mobile devices. Over 1/3 of Facebook's 600+ million user base uses Facebook mobile.

50% of Twitter's 165+ million users use Twitter mobile. Over 230+ million YouTube views occur on mobile devices per day.

AN IMPORTANT STEP

As the number of mobile devices increased in time and the pollution driven from radiation grew simultaneously, World Health Organisation (WHO) recommended that "consumers should consider ways of reducing their exposure".

Along with it, institutions and foundations adopted precautions regarding mobile device radiation and proposed legislation that would require devices to carry a label clearly stating the SAR value. Many steps are continuously being taken to improve that level of consciousness in this matter. Soon the law would require city retailers to inform customers about the possible dangers of cell phone radiation.
